If you had a band, what would you call yourselves?
Question submitted by Zoot.
I know I've already posted on this, but I remembered an mIRC script a friend of mine had that generated random band names, and went googling [google.co.uk/search?q=band%20name%20generator] for a script.
The first one (and tbh only one I bothered looking at) was called Band Name Maker [bandnamemaker.com].
Some gems that it came up with:
Hormonal Pickle
Hunky Belly of the Ballistic Deer
Koala of the Professional Daughter
I was also reminded that on Ross Noble (a god) and Terri Psiakis' brief radio broadcast on Triple J, Ross came up with a feature that involved him mixing made up band names with genuine ones and getting people to guess which was which in the "Band, Not a Band" quiz. There were some interesting ones that came up, but I can't remember alot of them. However, I would highly recommend you listen to the podcasts [abc.net.au/triplej/rossandterri/]. I may even give them a relisten and post some of the more interesting ones.
p.s. Did you know George Foreman has no fingerprints?

I was walking around a local shopping center (The Glades, Bromley [theglades.uk.com]) a couple of years ago. I don't remember why or how, but I think I was thinking about the same question and decided upon Churchill. Or maybe I was thinking about Churchill and decided it would be a good name for a band. Either way, it would be Churchill.
Ever since, I've developed a fasination. There is a road near my college that's called something like "Church Hill", and if it wasn't such a crap place I would seriously consider moving there. My computer is called Churchill in XP and Clementine in Vista (Churchill's wife). I even based an unfinished poem around the idea of a church on top of a hill being the center of a bizaar League of Gentlement style town.
It's not so much the man himself, but more the name. The idea of the combination of Church and Hill for some unknown reason fascinates me (which is why I love Church Hill road). Come to think of it, the band would be called "Church Hill".
